The METRO Small Business Certification application process is online only. METRO doesn't accept hard copies of supporting documents via email or fax. Supporting documents may be submitted with your online application for certification or recertification.

Interagency Mentor Protégé Program

METRO, Houston Independent School District (HISD), City of Houston, Houston Community College and Port of Houston Authority have teamed up to create the Interagency Mentor Protégé Program (IMPP).

The goals of IMPP are to enhance the business skills and broaden the base of small and minority businesses by providing the knowledge and experience of established firms.

2MK Solutions, LLC	Exterior Window Washing	Awarded their first METRO project that marked a significant milestone for their company's growth.
Identity Plus, LLC	Promotional items	Received their very first promotional items purchase order with METRO.
Perpetual Development, LLC dba Perpetual Construction Company	Fencing	Awarded a METRO purchase order for fencing services in June 2023. It was the firm’s first time ever bidding on a METRO project.
Power Line Solutions	Electric Bus Infrastructure Accommodation for Bus Operating Facilities	Received their first Prime contract with METRO to install the electrical portion of Houston METRO Bus Charging Stations at Polk, West Park, and Wayside locations.
STAR Geoenvironmental, LLC	Professional Environmental Engineering and Assessment Services	Contributed as a first-time METRO subcontractor to Terracon Consultants, Inc., to provide professional environmental engineering and assessment services.
